Expression through Art: Discovering Your Unique Creative Voice
PD DAY & HOLIDAY YOUTH PROGRAMS
Date: February 6th
Time: 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM
Grade Level: 9-12
Unleash your creativity in this immersive workshop where you'll explore the foundational principles of self-expression through art. We’ll begin by examining the power of line qualities, learning how subtle changes can evoke distinct emotions and narratives. Through guided activities, you'll discover techniques to infuse your art with personal meaning and find your own artistic voice.
Using music as a source of inspiration, we’ll experiment with how sound intensifies physical sensations and transforms into visual expression. By blending auditory and physical experiences, you'll develop tools to deepen your connection to your art practice.
This class is perfect for young artists seeking to establish a foundation for creating authentic, expressive works that truly reflect who they are.

After School Artisans
After-school Artisans is an 18-week program designed to provide an enriching and engaging experience at no cost for inner-city and at-risk youth. The program is focused on introducing students to the world of art, creating, digital design, STEM, and making, with a particular emphasis on hands-on learning, utilizing nearly all of our tools and equipment.
Make Stuff Mondays
Make Stuff Mondays is a dynamic 8-week hands-on experience, in which participants will explore the realms of laser cutting, 3D printing, decal cutting, leatherwork, and woodworking, bringing their ideas to life with precision and innovation. From personalized decals to the artistry of leatherworking and the craftsmanship of woodworking, each week offers a unique opportunity for hands-on exploration and creative expression.
Dreambrokers
Makerspace partners with Dreambrokers to provide a wide range of programming services for the inner-city school they work with. From focused 4 week programs, 10 week extended programs, 18 week full programs, or even a dedicated week of summer camp, Dreambrokers has been instrumental in helping us to provide enriching hands-on learning to many youth who don’t have the same sort of opportunities as many other families in the city.
