Saskatoon Makerspace's Artist Development Residency program offers a transformative experience, providing artists with FREE specialized training and resources to diversify their creative mediums and elevate their artistic practice.

The goal of our residency program is to support the growth and professionalization of artists by offering mentorship, workshops, access to advanced equipment, and exposure opportunities, enabling them to hone their skills and expand their artistic horizons.

THE PERKS

Free Classes

Each accepted artist receives six complimentary classes of their choice, providing essential skills and knowledge. Post-classes, artists gain access to associated tools and equipment.

Community of Makers

Immerse yourself in a vibrant community of fellow makers, fostering a collaborative environment where accepted artists can interact with a like-minded community.

Art Showcase

At the end of the residency, an art showing will be held at the space, allowing artists to showcase their work, engage with the community, and expand their community connections.

Apply to become a part of this space designed for growth, exploration, and community engagement.

The artist residency has a limited number of available slots spanning a 5.5 month duration. Residency begins October 15th and ends March 31st.

This program is free for approved artists. Artists will be evaluated based on artist goals, potential project growth via use of Makerspace, current discipline and mediums, and potential impact on the community.
