stained glass

In this workshop at Saskatoon Makerspace, students will learn the basics of stained glass and create their own custom-designed stained glass piece. The class will cover topics such as selecting and cutting glass, copper foil technique, soldering, and finishing. Participants will learn how to select and cut glass, apply copper foil to the edges, and solder the pieces together to create their stained glass piece. Through hands-on practice and guided instruction, students will create a stained glass sun catcher or small panel to take home. By the end of the class, students will have a foundational understanding of stained glass techniques and will have created their own beautiful stained glass piece.

The class will emphasize the importance of safety protocols and the use of personal protective equipment. All materials and tools will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring their own glass cutting tools if they have them. This class is suitable for beginners with little to no experience in stained glass.
